Now you can use these beautiful "shades" to create your perfect romantic mood. You can use them as ornaments or as we did, as romantic lampshades. Your 6*10 shade during the day and at night. We used a 15watt light bulb to create the soft light. |

"Romantic Shades" Tutorial Click on any pic for an enlarged view. (Please note that the use of the electrical components are merely a suggestion and that A Stitch a Half accepts no responsibility for any problems that might arise from the electrical installation.) |

Step 1 Stitch out your 6 side panels and one top panel. |
Step 2 Sew side panels to top panel. |

Step 3 It should look like this when all 6 side panels are attached to the top panel. |
Step 4 Sew side panels together. (side to side) Wash out your water soluble-stabilizer in tepid water. Let dry. Feel free to use an embellishment to decorate your shade. |

Step 5 Cut a duplicate top panel from cardboard. (this will reinforce the top section of your shade.) |
Step 6 If you want to make this a lamp shade, you might want to acquire the following from your local hardware store:

Step 7 Attach ready-made light socket to your shade. |
Step 8 Note that the cardboard reinforcement is on the inside of the shade. That way it remains out of sight. |

Step 9 Insert your lightbulb. |
Step 10 Attach your plug and enjoy your romantic shade. |
