"Reticule in Roses"

Price $15

The Reticule or "draw string purse" dates from the late 1790's and was a small, yet practical bag where a lady could hide her belongings in while attending a social function. Later on, towards the 1800's and beyond, the purse became quite decorative and a definite fashion statement.

Here you have your collection of 3 Reticules with your Roses theme where you can use a braided rope, a ribbon or even a leather thong to fashion your drawstring.

For elegant use, try satin fabric. For more casual use, any fabric, even denim can be used.

(Embellishments, tassels, lace glove and drawstrings not included)

The Reticule for the 5*7 hoop is a dainty purse that can easily hide the smaller cell phones or can be used for tissues or as a coin purse.

If you use the 3 Reticules at a wedding, the bridesmaids can easily use a Reticule one size smaller than that of the bride. That way they all have the same theme.

Also attatched are photos of my version of the classic reticule. I used 4 panals instead of 2, and I attatched crystals to it, even tho they are hard to see. I am thinkng of adding some irredesent lace at the top to compensate for the fullness so that there is a deeper ruffle at the top.  I sure hope you dont mind, as I love  to play around. I've decided to make a grouping of embroidered purses to hang on my wall. Thanks for your time. CAOS; mccaos111@yahoo.com
